How to move Ozeki SMS Gateway data to new system (Video tutorial)
In this video, you will learn how to safely transfer your Ozeki SMS Gateway data from one system to another. The tutorial walks you through each step: stopping the Ozeki service, creating a backup by zipping the Data folder, installing the software on a new machine, and restoring the backup by replacing the default data. You’ll see how to restart the service on the new system and verify that all previous messages, users, and configurations are successfully loaded and operational. This video ensures a smooth and reliable migration without losing your SMS gateway setup.
Step 1 - Stop Ozeki service
Open the Services panel on your current system and stop the "OzekiSystem" service. This prevents any data changes during backup (Figure 1).
Step 2 - Zip Data folder
Navigate to the Ozeki installation directory and compress the Data folder into a ZIP file. This folder contains all your configurations, messages, and user data (Figure 2).
Step 3 - Backup data folder created
Ensure the backup file (e.g., Data.Net8.zip) is successfully created. This file will be transferred to the new system (Figure 3).
Step 4 - Install SMS Gateway in new system
Install the Ozeki SMS Gateway software on the new system in the same directory structure used previously. This prepares the environment for data restoration (Figure 4).
Step 5 - Stop newly installed Ozeki service
On the new system, stop the freshly installed Ozeki service to avoid interference while replacing the data folder (Figure 5).
Step 6 - Delete default data folder
Go to the Ozeki installation path and delete the default Data folder created during installation. This clears the way for your backup data (Figure 6).
Step 7 - Copy backup data folder
Copy the previously zipped and extracted Data folder from the old system into the Ozeki installation directory on the new system (Figure 7).
Step 8 - Start Ozeki folder
Start the Ozeki service again on the new system to load the restored configuration and data (Figure 8).
Step 9 - Data loaded in new system
Log in to the Ozeki web interface. If the steps were completed correctly, your messages, settings, and user accounts from the old system will now be available (Figure 9).
